Smooth meets crunchy, and it's exactly this contrast that makes every spoonful so special. The name comes from Italian, by the way. "Stracciare" means something like "to tear" and describes the little shreds of chocolate running through the cream. The combination was invented in Bergamo in 1961, back then as an ice cream.
