WE ONLY CLOSE OUR EYES FOR PLEASURE

In order to make sure that our products only contain what really belongs there and that our raw materials stay pure before and during processing, at Bauer traditional know-how meets state-of-the-art innovation. To give an example: our milk is tested several times, for its content (fat and protein content), its bacteriological properties (germ load), for inhibitors (e.g. medicinal residues) and somatic cells (an indication of udder inflammation). We want our customers to know: Bauer is more than a logotype, it is a seal of quality.

THE NATURE OF FRUITS

Nearly every successful manufacturing company has a “flagship” – a product that’s so well-known, popular, and successful that it stands as a symbol for the entire company. Launched in 1975, “Der große Bauer” still is our absolute prime product, having defined the market for fruit yoghurt since the beginning. Alongside cheese, it is the best thing you can make from our milk, and this belief is shared by many. There’s hardly a refrigerated shelf in Germany where you don’t find it.

  • Since 2021 – Bauer realigns Supervisory Board and C-Level Management

    Florian Bauer and Markus Bauer, previously Managing Directors, move as Chairmen into the newly created Supervisory Board, effective 1 April 2021. The new Board will advise the Executive Management of the Group and thus define important strategic cornerstones.

    The new CEO of the Bauer Group is Heiko Modell who already held a key function as part of the Holding Management since 2018. He is supported by Florian Kellner (CFO) who will be responsible for the areas of Finance and IT, and by Michael Janker (COO) who will coordinate the areas of Production, Technology, SCM, and Quality Management.

  • 2007 – The brothers Florian Bauer and Markus Bauer

    In their hands, Management of the company resides within the family already in its 5th generation. In 2012, both of them led our company to its 125th Anniversary, and in 2013, they united its associate companies under one roof: the Bauer Group.

    Now, the two brothers are setting a new milestone both in retail and with the customers, as is the tradition with Bauer. Under their leadership, and starting in spring 2021, Bauer is the first family dairy offering a purely vegetable product line on the market: the “GrünKraft” brand with its yoghurt and cheese alternatives. Effective 1 April 2021, the two brothers move as Chairmen into the newly created Supervisory Board.

  • 1972 – ULRICH BAUER

    Ulrich Bauer is the father of our two Managing Directors. But actually, Ulrich Bauer is the father of “Der Große Bauer”, the most successful product of the company that has been the defining force on the fruit yoghurt market since 1975. And it was he who initiated the successful partnership with Mövenpick in 1994, for whom we are producing and marketing yoghurt products. Also, he transformed the company under the name of Bauerschweizer gets into J. Bauer KG.
